A New Era of Courage: Case Study

NWSL North Carolina Courage

Announcement of new front of jersey partnership between the three time NWSL championship team North Carolina Courage and award winning global aesthetics company Merz Aesthetics. 

We kicked off pre-season with an exclusive event to announce new partnership with Merz Aesthetics and launch the new away kit that will be worn for the 2023 season only. The main measure of success was to capture media valuation for the partner and increase engagement via player’s posting on their own channels. 

Local media covered the event moderated by Forbes Under 30 Honoree and HighlightHER founder, Ari Chambers, also featuring speeches from Kim Lobell, VP of Communications for Merz Aesthetics, Francie Gottsegen, President of North Carolina Football Club, and Brianna Pinto, Midfielder for the NC Courage. 

The approach for this event was to elevate the NC Courage brand and usher in the “New Era” of the NC Courage with an experience the club has never done before. To accentuate the fierceness of this partnership and the new era, I worked with local muralist Taylor White to commission a piece aptly titled, “A New Era of Courage.” The piece went on to become the backdrop to arrivals for Courage home games of the upcoming season and permanently live in the Courage locker room.

The outcome of this event hit every metric we set. Local media and publications covered the event. The partner gained exposure in sports media and we saw a significant increase in engagement from NC Courage players. The night was a great hit. With live painting, a custom jersey bar, and an open bar, it set the tone for the season to come.
